In daily life, our mobile phones receive a large number of SMS verification codes every day. In the internet era, a large number of websites, mobile apps, and mini-programs are using SMS verification codes as a security technical measure to verify user identity. During e-commerce festivals and holidays, enterprise promotions, lucky draws, interactive activities, etc., also bring member marketing SMS to peak periods. There are many scenarios where SMS is used between enterprises and users in life, and our daily life cannot be separated from SMS.

The increase in SMS application scenarios has spawned many SMS service vendors. However, for enterprises, the service quality of SMS service vendors is completely uncontrollable. Therefore, enterprises need data to quantify the delivery rate and timeliness of SMS service vendors' service quality. Additionally, larger-scale enterprises generally choose multiple SMS service vendors to avoid affecting end users when one vendor has problems. However, enterprises are not clear which SMS service vendor has good service quality and cannot make selections.

The normal SMS sending process is as follows (taking enterprise sending verification codes as an example):

When a user enters a mobile phone number on the enterprise's website and clicks to obtain "verification code", it triggers the enterprise's SMS API interface.

The API interface notifies the SMS gateway to send the SMS through the ISP network, sending the verification code to the user's mobile phone.

During this process, SMS delivery delays or verification code acquisition failures may occur due to various reasons such as network, SMS gateway load, end-user devices, etc.

Solution

TingYun's solution is: Use TingYun's mobile 4G and 5G synthetic monitoring phone clients deployed across the country to simulate active monitoring of SMS delivery rate and latency, and verify whether the sent content is correct. Monitoring metrics include SMS delivery time and SMS delivery availability. Supports viewing by ISP, province ISP, city ISP, province, and city dimensions.
