Problem description

Ping task, found that a small proportion of errors reported, Request timed out, analyze the reason?

Problem analysis

(1) Check the detailed data of the task and find that there is packet loss, 25% of the packet loss.

(2) Check the same Probe, but this phenomenon is not 100% true.

(3) Instant Testing reappears and the data is normal

(4) Perform MTR monitoring on the IP and find that there is packet loss.

(5) Check the detailed data and find that there is packet loss on the intermediate link.

Problem summary

(1) Packet loss is not 100%
(2) There is no commonality. The recurrence of the same Probe is not 100% timeout.
(3) Instant Testing does not reappear
(4) From the MTR data, we can see that there is packet loss on the intermediate link.

Problem feedback

It is suspected that the timeout is caused by the fluctuation of the intermediate link Network, and the proportion of Error in the last day is 1%. It is within reasonable fault tolerance and can be ignored.
